Following the merger of Develco Products and Datek Smart Home, Onics required a new visual brand transformation. The core challenges lied in establishing a cohesive visual identity that balances technical precision with approachable usability. This involved a new logo design and a set of visual brand guidelines.

Our role

We translated Onics’ core values into a unified, standardized visual brand guide. The focus was to create a flexible, easy-to-use design system to ensure consistency across all future assets.

Process

We began by exploring two distinct visual directions and sketching out a new logo mark, which conceptually bridges a rigid square (representing hardware) with a fluid circle (representing software and the letter 'O'). Once a direction was selected, we translated Onics’ brand values into comprehensive visual guidelines, defining a versatile typographic system, a balanced color palette, and clean photography standards.

Result

The resulting identity and visual guidelines provide a scalable framework for Onics’ future visual touchpoints. The logo is optimized with versatile vertical and horizontal lockups and strict clearspace rules to protect brand integrity. Typography and color systems are designed for high readability, while product photography and UI layouts maintain a clean, minimal aesthetic with ample breathing room. Finally, the "Mega Logo Mark" was established as a bold, recognizable graphic asset to anchor the platform's overarching identity.

We helped develop the DALI Sound Hub Compact - a slimmed-down, ultra-compact wireless audio transmitter tailored specifically for modern TV and digital audio setups. The core design challenge was one of extreme space optimization and placement flexibility: the device needed to house complex wireless streaming technology, an advanced DAC, and multiple inputs inside a low-profile housing that could either sit unobtrusively on a shelf or be mounted flat against a wall behind a wall-hung TV, all without compromising wireless signal strength.

Our role

We approached the project from a holistic industrial design and micro-architecture perspective, treating the Sound Hub Compact as an invisible enabler of high-end experiences. Our role focused on creating a highly functional form factor optimized for smart cable management and effortless interaction. We balanced complex technical demands - such as heat dissipation in confined spaces and 5.7 GHz wireless antenna placement - with an ultra-slim, minimalist aesthetic that feels inherently premium, yet completely understated.

Process

Our design process centered on physical prototyping, port layout optimization, and a strategic CMF (Color, Material, Finish) development for discrete home integration. Through iterative design loops, we engineered the chassis with a clever angled connection panel to ensure that cables can be routed cleanly without adding bulk to the depth of the unit. We focused heavily on intuitive automation, implementing automatic source selection so the user rarely needs to interact with the box itself. The exterior texture and matte finish were carefully selected to prevent unwanted light reflections when placed near or behind television screens.

Result

The outcome is the DALI Sound Hub Compact, a masterclass in discrete industrial design and functional clarity. Activating DALI’s wireless EQUI loudspeaker ecosystem, it completely bridges the gap between high-end Hi-Fi sound and modern TV convenience. By combining a zero-latency, high-resolution wireless stream with an ultra-slim, versatile silhouette, the final design removes the traditional AV receiver entirely from sight - delivering a powerful acoustic experience from an entirely clutter-free living space.

Arla needed an engaging physical space for children's food activities at outdoor events and festivals. Our solution was a set of branded mini-pavilions that offer an inviting, child-friendly environment, that balances strong visual appeal with the full modularity required for easy transport and setup.

Our role

Made By Makers handled the project from the initial conceptual idea and technical working drawings to coordinating directly with skilled craftsmen to bring the Milk Houses to life.

Process

The design process started with a comprehensive ideation and sketching phase, where we tried to balance a playful, child-friendly aesthetic with the structural and physical demands for the pavilions. Once the core concept was locked in, we transitioned into 3D modeling and digital visualizations to refine the scale, ergonomics, and graphics.

Result

The final design delivers a set of mini-pavilions shaped like iconic Arla milk cartons, complete with custom mobile workstations for utensil storage and food prep. Built to withstand event rotation, the entire collection merges rugged structural durability with a clean aesthetic that keeps the ultimate focus on fun and learning.

In the logistics industry, fully utilizing available trailer space remains a massive challenge. Traditional fleet management systems rely on estimates from bookings and manual driver inputs, leading to inefficient load factors. Spyrna aimed to change that by providing concrete, real-time data using depth cameras inside the trailer. Made By Makers helped Spyrna develop a ruggedized, low-profile edge-hardware device that could be seamlessly integrated inside volatile cargo environments, withstanding heavy impacts and vibration, while perfectly positioning advanced camera optics to accurately measure actual cargo volume.

Our role

We joined Spyrna as a design partner, managing a 360-degree development journey. Our role spanned from the initial industrial design of the interior edge hardware to the creation of the graphical identity, user interface (UI) principles for the dashboards, and high fidelity prototypes. By bridging hardware aesthetics with data visualization, we ensured a holistic product experience.

Process

Our design process is the result of a great, ongoing collaboration that has spanned several years. Driven by iterative engineering and a design strategy for rugged industrial environments, we developed numerous functional models and high-fidelity prototypes. These models underwent rigorous real-world testing and environmental validation inside active trailers to ensure durability and camera lens protection. In parallel, we crafted Spyrna’s visual identity, translating their brand values into a cohesive visual language.

Result

The outcome is a sophisticated, market-ready Spyrna ecosystem—uniting physical product and brand identity—that brings certainty to trailer logistics. By measuring actual cargo volume to reveal unused capacity, the final design directly drives reduced emissions and improved ESG reporting. The core industrial design challenge centered on creating both analog control panels and digital interfaces that hospital staff can operate flawlessly under high-stress clinical conditions.

Our role

Serving as a long-term strategic partner, we delivered a holistic design ecosystem. Our work spanned the industrial design of tactile hardware panels, intuitive digital user interfaces (UI/UX), and a variety of corporate graphics and marketing materials.

Process

The design process combined collaborative workshops with Chromaviso, various paper and digital sketching, hospital visits and user interviews. To bring the concepts to life, we engineered numerous physical models and prototypes. These underwent rigorous testing and validation in hospitals to ensure flawless tactile button feedback and intuitive digital workflows.

Harvard Bioscience/Biochrom asked Made By Makers to help them update their current Colorimeter offering. The device should reflect the aesthetic direction described in the recently developed Harvard Bioscience brand ethos book.

Our role

Made By Makers was driving the redesign of the colorimeter from a standpoint of reduced complexity for the user. This should be both visually and actually by creating a simple product silhouette and by making the handling steps more intuitive.

Process

We started with rough handsketches to illustrate different proportions based upon component architecture. We proposed these to the Harvard Bioscience/Biochrom team and together we chose a layout which had the most optimal blend of known component architecture, user benefits and aesthetic impact. Finally we developed a CMF spec for the physical enclosure ensuring coherence between this and the newly developed UI aesthetics.

Result

Ultimately, we developed a design that consists of basic geometric shapes that are broken up by using dark and light colours. The perceived size is reduced, it creates a strong focus point and gives a clean yet strong expression. We deployed a strong and concise use of brand marks, brand colours and logos adding to the tactility and legibility of the device.

The challenge was to develop KatScope - a patented, sterile, single-use device for both laparoscopic and thoracoscopic single-port surgical procedures. In high-stress operating environments, medical equipment must be reliable, ergonomic, and easy to use. To achieve this, we focused on a user-centric design while building a cohesive ecosystem around the KatScope device, including its visual identity, an instruction manual, and various branding materials.

Our role

We took on a 360-degree role spanning from initial industrial design to full brand execution of the KatScope system. Made By Makers handled the complete development lifecycle from the physical KatScope device design, ergonomic optimization, graphical identity, user manuals, animation and 3D animations for instructional use.

Process

Our design process was rooted in iterative user research and real-world validation. To ensure optimal ergonomics and functional safety for the KatScope device, we developed a range of functional high-fidelity prototypes and test models. In collaboration with surgical expert Niels Katballe, the models were subjected to critical preclinical testing on pigs. These simulations provided invaluable, actionable insights into workflow, tactile feedback, and material performance under real operating conditions. The insights were then translated into iterative design refinement, a sterile-compliant CMF (Color, Material, Finish) specification, and intuitive user manuals.

Result

The outcome is the KatScope device, a medical device that integrates into modern surgical workflows. In collaboration with SurgeryTech, we took KatScope from an initial idea to a complete, market-ready package. Beyond the medical device itself, we created the entire launch ecosystem, including the visual identity, marketing materials, and instruction manuals. The final product balances advanced medical features with a simple, clean design, making it easy for surgical teams to use.

EBI approached Made By Makers to support the development and refinement of a next generation urban e-bike concept. EBI wanted a strong focus on combining innovative technology, user-centered design, and a distinctive brand experience.

Our role

Made By Makers explored frame layouts, user experiences as well as innovative steering and drivetrain technologies that would create both a visual and tangible impact in the marketplace.

Process

In a series of informal meetings together with EBI stakeholders we honed in on the core experience EBI wanted to deliver and refined towards the final proposal.

In search of an external catalyst - beyond our in-house design sphere - for our innovative All-in-One city e-cycle, a partner recommended Made By Makers. It was an instant smooth, efficient, yet sophisticated collaboration. Made By Makers are listeners first, insight-roamers, and smart creators. After the first briefing, the feedback didn't disappoint - particularly regarding key insights and product resonance. We appreciated the quality without artifice, genuine reflection and pondering, but never any "showing off" or condescension. Instead, it was peer-to-peer sharing throughout the process, which made the whole R&D seamless and fruitful.A product's success is a transversal teamwork - bridging the clients' needs with the agency's interpretation. Analogic Security engaged Made By Makers to support their development of a checked-luggage system. They wanted the system to aesthetically mimic their existing ConneCT system used for carry-on luggage, to improve serviceability and keep mechanical changes to a minimum.

Our role

We were given a mechanical package as well as the range of manufacturing processes and materials to use. Within these limits we were asked to develop proposals for an enclosure meeting their requirements

Process

Together with Analogic stakeholders we created a range of possible options searching for the right amount of manufacturing complexity and product line connection.

The RUBICON series is a cohesive product family of high-performance loudspeakers spanning from compact stand-mounts to powerful floorstanders and elegant wall-mounted solutions. We helped DALI establish a timeless, minimalist design language that fits seamlessly into modern residential spaces, and to design a cabinet architecture capable of housing advanced acoustic technologies without looking bulky or intrusive.

Our role

We approached the project from a holistic design perspective, treating the entire RUBICON range as a family of premium architectural objects and focused on creating a shared, scalable product architecture. We balanced the requirements of internal cabinet volumes with a clean, sophisticated exterior aesthetic, ensuring that each model - whether passive or active - retained a consistent visual DNA and high-end tactile quality.

Process

Through iterative design loops, we optimized the structural form language across the series. This included designing clean cabinet lines and a robust, multi-layer front baffle that serves as a solid physical and visual anchor for the drivers. We integrated DALI’s technical innovations - such as the patented Soft Magnetic Compound (SMC) driver systems and signature reddish wood fibre cones - ensuring these functional elements became iconic visual highlights of the series' identity, beautifully contrasted by premium cabinet finishes like real wood veneers and deep high-gloss lacquers.

Result

The outcome is the RUBICON series - a versatile, high-end loudspeaker family that strikes a balance between expressive acoustic performance and subtle home integration. With its wide-dispersion capabilities and cohesive design language, the series redefines the premium audio segment. The final product range delivers a commanding soundstage from a timeless, minimalist silhouette, ensuring both aesthetic longevity and broad applicability across different modern living environments.
