DALI A/S
To deliver true hi-fi speaker performance in a portable format, the DALI iO-8 headphones merges high-end acoustic engineering with refined wearable ergonomics. The design integrates custom-developed 50 mm paper fibre drivers, advanced digital electronics into a lightweight, durable form factor and aims to balance intuitive daily comfort with a clean, sophisticated aesthetic.
Our role
We aimed to create headphones that feel like a well-thought-out lifestyle product rather than just another gadget. It was all about finding the right balance between comfortable ergonomics, a solid fit on the head, and a clean Scandinavian look that fits DALI's DNA.
Process
We worked closely on ergonomics, materials, and through physical prototype rounds. Materials were chosen for durability and comfort: real leather, brushed aluminum, and long-lasting fabrics. We fine-tuned the fit to distribute weight evenly and ensure the ear cups seal well for good passive noise reduction - always keeping the user in focus.
Result
The outcome is a timeless, durable, and comfortable design built for daily wear. Combining expressive acoustic performance with effortless wearability, it seamlessly balances personal style and the demands of the modern user's lifestyle.
